Description: Join Lord George and Lady Esmeralda on a guided fairies and goblins walk around the park and woods.

Starting at Rumbles café at 2pm.

Hear tales of fairies and goblins that live in the park, find fairy doors and meet some unexpected magical folk.

Nature Bench Created!

New bench

New bench

A new bench has been added to the woodland at Sconce and Devon Park.

The bench was funded by the Friends of Sconce & Devon Park and Newark & Sherwood District Council with support from The Greenwood Community Forest Partnership.

The design was inspired by the pupils of Year 5 at Holy Trinity Catholic Academy 2016 and created by sculptor, Peter Leadbeater from an oak tree felled close by.

Easter Egg Trail

Location: Sconce Park Cafe Area
Description: The friends of Sconce and Devon Park welcome you along to their annual Easter Egg Trail. Answer the clues around the park to receive a chocolate egg. Free event donations welcome. Meet at the rangers office next to the café.

Midlands Kite Fliers Fly-In

Title: Midlands Kite Fliers Fly-In
Location: Sconce Park Infront of Cafe Area
Description: Come along and join the Midlands Kite Fliers as they show piece some of their spectacular kites and displays. There will be an opportunity to fly your own kite provided by the club (limited numbers apply). The event is free and will take place on the large open space near the café.

The Sealed Knot Re-enactments Battle

Title: The Sealed Knot Re-enactments Battle
Location: Sconce Park
Description: The Sealed Knot brings history to life by staging events throughout the country all year round, offering a chance to experience at first hand the horrors of a nation at war with itself, as well as providing a glimpse of everyday life in those days.

They will be recreating a mini skirmish along with firing cannons, muskets, pike drills and giving the public the chance to see the weapons used up close.

The Sealed Knot Living History Camp

Title: The Sealed Knot Living History Camp
Location: Sconce Park
Description: The Sealed Knot is the oldest re-enactment society in the UK, a registered educational charity, and the single biggest re-enactment society in Europe.

Join them at Sconce and Devon Park as they re create a living history camp from the civil war. Walk around the camp and experience what it was like to live during this time. Hear stories from soliders and wives who lived in the camp.
